Review of Alfresco ALXE Gas Grill - Buyers Guide

Today we are checking out Alfresco’s ALXE gas grill, now they have several different sizes and configurations.. this is their 42 inch model. Let’s have a look inside. The cooking area measures 37 1/4 wide by 19 inches deep, and can comfortably grill up to 28, 4-inch round hamburgers at a time. The cooking grids are made of solid stainless steel rods, allowing for great sear marks and durability. For models with a sear burner, the stainless cooking grids have a v shape to them, this catches food drippings and infuses them right back into the food.Under the cooking grids, you will find Alfresco's ceramic briquette trays. These rest directly over the conventional burners, radiating heat & creating an incredibly even cooking surface. The briquette trays are removable, and for easy cleaning simply flip them over and allow them to burn off any debris. The back of each briquette has an air cavity, allowing for the heat to distribute throughout each briquette evenly. Below the ceramic briquettes, you will find the stainless steel conventional burners are rated for an impressive 27,500 BTU's Each. Models with the optional infrared searing zones, these also are rated for 27,500 BTUs, and they give you the ability create steakhouse style searing in the comfort of your own home. For nighttime entertaining, the inside of the grill is lit by 2 powerful Halogen lights, and the control panel is accented by Amber LED lights. Alfresco even shows an incredible attention for detail with an integrated hood light switch. The control panel of the ALXe features a fully welded slide out smoker box, with a dedicated 5,000 BTU smoker burner. This box is perfect for adding wood chips or areomatics, even cooking liquids like wine or beer for infusing your food with any flavor profile you desire. The Alfresco Smoker box does not just release smoke directly above, like some smokers. This smoker box actually releases the smoke into a passageway in the bottom of the grill, where it spreads out and rises to fully surround and permeate all of your food. For further cooking versatility, the Alfresco ALXe features a hidden commercial style rotisserie motor that is chain driven, meaning it can turn up to 50 lbs of meat in front of the 18,500 BTU rear infrared burner. Because the rotisserie is chain driven, you won’t have to worry about using any counterweights or constant jumping of your food while it’s turning, as you might with a standard side mount rotisserie motor. For added grill real estate, the removable warming rack has 3 positions. Simply have it stowed away like you see here, or slide it down into the top or bottom warming positions.Temperature accuracy is made easy with Alfresco’s flush mounted easy read hood thermometer, and to keep cleanup simple, there's a full width slide out drip pan. Other truly innovative features on Alfrescos ALXe include an easily accessable LED light panel for replacing bulbs as needed, a concealed heavy duty- torsion spring lid assist system, and a control panel with cool flow design that even at searing grill temperatures, the panel remains cool to the touch because of it’s vented design. Now we'll perform our xrf test on Alfresco's ALXe grill. The inside, and outside of the hood tested to be 304 stainlesss steel. The control panel, drip pan, fire box, cooking grids, and ceramic briquette trays, all tested to be 304 as well. The burners tested to be 18sr stainless steel. Thank you for watching, if you have any questions on Alfresco’s ALXE, or any of thier other great products, please give us a call or check us out online today.I’m Chef Tony Matassa, and remember.. at BBQGuys.com, we SMOKE.. the competition!.
