Solaire Infrared Gas Grill Review

Hey, I’m chef tony matassa with BBQGuys.com, in this video we are checking out Solaire grills, now Solaire makes several different models, but this is their most popular model, this is the all infrared 27 inch Deluxe model.. They are made right here in the USA.. Let’s have a look inside! The 304 stainless cooking grids of the Solaire grill are “v” shaped, this provides a channel for the drippings from your food to collect, and vaporize back up into your food adding moisture and smokey flavor as you grill. The grids are wide, so this means you will get maximum caramelization when you grill, and the sear marks make for great presentation. Underneath the cooking grids, you will find the heart of this grill.. Solaire’s Ceramic Infrared burners. If you are someone who wants to cook juicy, flavorful food in a fraction of the time that you would spend grilling over conventional burners, an all infrared grill is perfect for you. Infrared burners are what your favorite steakhouses use, they can preheat to 1,000 degrees in about 3 minutes, and they use about half the amount of fuel compared to conventional burners, saving you money & time. Not only will your food cook faster over infrared, it will actually retain more moisture. The reason for this is that conventional burners heat your food with the movement of hot air, which can dry out food. Infrared burners produce direct, radiant heat, reducing the amount of hot air moving past your food. The great thing about Solaire grills, is that if you want a different burner configuration, you can easily swap out their infrared burner for a conventional burner, giving you an infra-vection cooking environment, that way you have the best of both worlds. And for those who enjoy rotisserie cooking, Solaire grills are available with or without a rear infrared burner. For more cooking versatility, Solaire offers several optional accessories. For indirect cooking, Solaire's stainless BBQ Tray works great, just pour in your favorite cooking liquid, I like to use red wine… and you have a great way to infuse flavor while you cook food to your desired doneness. This setup works well for something like thick cut pork tenderloin medallions. I like to get the initial sear over infrared, then move them over the bbq tray, so that they can finish cooking at lower heat. If you like to have the option to fry, and even steam in your gas grill, Solaire offers a stainless steel steamer/fryer accessory that easily drops into the grill. I love having the option to fry in the grill, because you don’t have to dedicate additional space in your outdoor kitchen for a fryer.Beneath the fryer basket, there is a raised tray for steaming.. and with this basket over the infrared burner, the water is steaming in no time! If you like having the option of cooking on a griddle, Solaire offers a stainless steel griddle accessory, that is great for cooking up breakfast on the grill. The griddle plate is ¼ inch thick stainless, which is excellent for heat retention & durability. This griddle is perfect for cooking things like crispy bacon, and even pancakes outside on your grill! Solaire grills are available on cart, on a post, as well as built in configurations. A nice feature is that the on cart solaire grills are not permanently attached to the cart, so they can be built in at a later date if you choose to do so. Other nice features of the Solaire grill include a removable warming rack for extra grill real estate, a slide out drip pan for easy cleaning, and the burners are lit with rapid-start electronic ignition. For ease of nighttime grilling, solaire has an optional battery powered LED grill light that easily mounts to the side of the grill. Now I’ll perform our xrf test on Solaire’s grill, The cooking grids, firebox, interior & exterior of the hood, control panel, drip pan, and cart all tested to be 304 stainless steel. As you can tell from the durable 304 stainless steel construction, the solaire grill is built to last. Solaire grills are made by Rasmussen Iron Works, a company that is rooted in quality metal craftsmanship dating all the way back to 1907. When choosing a Solaire grill, you can be sure Rasmussen will stand behind their product with excellent customer service.
